| SUMMARY AND EXPLANATION OF TEST: |
Anti-thyroid antibodies, especially anti-microsomal antibodies and anti-thyroglobulin antibodies have been observed to be relevant to autoimmune thyroid disease such as Graves' disease and Hashimoto's disease. In autoimmune thyroid diseases the levels of these autoantibodies are often positive and they have been used as an auxiliary markers for diagnosis of autoimmune thyroid diseases. |
