INTENDED USE:	The quantitative determination of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) concentration in human serum by a Microplate Chemiliuminescense Immunoassay (CLIA).
PRODUCT OVERVIEW:	Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is synthesized by the pituitary gland in the brain. Control of FSH production is a complex system involving hormones produced by the gonads (ovaries or testes), the pituitary and the hypothalamus. In women, FSH acts on the granulosa cells of the ovary, stimulating steroidogensis. It stimulates the growth and maturation of ovarian follicles (eggs) during the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle. In men, FSH acts on the Sertoli cells of the testis, stimulating the synthesis of inhibin. Thus, it indirectly supports spermatogenesis.
